Soul of the Night honors the eternal continuity of life beneath a luminous desert sky. In this imagined nocturnal sanctuary, fox guardians stand watch as pollinators trace golden spirals through the air visible pathways of unseen labor and sacred exchange.
At the heart of the painting, a night-blooming Epiphyllum opens in radiant fuchsia to magenta. Like many orchid cactus blossoms, it reveals its beauty only in darkness, reminding us that transformation and renewal often unfold beyond the visible hours of day.
The spiral motif, long present in my brushwork, emerges here as both active flight path and ancient symbol of eternity. Inspired by petroglyph imagery and the cyclical rhythms of nature, these luminous tracings speak to regeneration, adaptation, and the unbroken thread of consciousness moving through all living things.
Architecture and wilderness coexist in quiet partnership. Though forms shift and seasons change, life continues. Every element bees, moth, blossom, sky participates in a rhythmic dance of reciprocity, an exchange of gifts that sustains the living world. Consciousness is eternal adapting in form yet enduring in essence. Our presence is resilient because it belongs to an unbroken cycle of renewal.
