Somewhere Out West
30W x 24H
I took a photo in my backyard of a coyote and didn't even realize there was a roadrunner in it. That discovery inspired this painting. I had also just spent a wonderful day sketching in the Phoenix Botanical Garden, and this desert landscape is what emerged!
I use brush stroke marks as lines of energy to describe movement and as a way to move your eye around a painting. When I paint I listen to music so I feel the rhythm and movement of the sounds work their way into my paintings.
