Oasis of Awareness explores the landscape as a living network of relationships where plants, animals, geology, atmosphere, and perception participate in an ongoing exchange of energy and information. Inspired by the deserts of Southern California, the painting combines luminous color, layered pattern, and spiraling forms to evoke the visible and invisible systems that connect living things.
A subtle eye emerges within the flourishing desert garden, revealing itself gradually rather than all at once. Its presence invites reflection on a question that runs throughout my work: What if awareness is not separate from nature, but woven into the fabric of living systems themselves? The eye serves as both observer and participant, suggesting that perception is not passive but actively shapes our experience of the world.
The flowering oasis becomes a metaphor for creativity as a form of pollinationan exchange through which ideas, energy, and relationships circulate and generate new possibilities. Through color, movement, and interconnected forms, the painting celebrates resilience as something that emerges through relationship and reminds us that what we choose to see influences the reality we create.
