The eyes of the aspen forest are wonderful surreal companions in the deep and magical places I have explored in the mountains of Taos and Santa Fe. Pictured just as the sun sets behind velvet blue mountains with a last ring of golden hour reflecting in the lake. I paint what a place feels like to me - not what it looks like with the cameras eye. I use vivid color to express the way a landscape feels alive and connected to me as if it is a part of my soul.
