Welcome 2021! Thank goodness it’s a new year because the last year was pretty unreal. I moved to a new location right as the Covid pandemic was shutting everything down. My move was postponed and I was the first customer moved under the new mask, gloves and sanitizing rules. It was crazy. I opened a new gallery in Cardiff, and moved my studio to Carlsbad. Once I got settled in, all the galleries I show in from La Jolla, to New Mexico and Virginia, had to close, or shift to online sales. I had a big economic set back. I had more than normal expenses from moving and I was able to sell only half the paintings I normally sell. I barely scraped by.
So…I have a lot of hope that 2021 will be a great year! There are lots of new things coming and I’m excited to get to work on them!
I am working on a new series of paintings, “Under New Mexico Skies” based on the lyrics from the Syd Masters song of the same name. It is the state song of New Mexico and I love it! I was so inspired by his descriptions, I could really see the vision and spirit of New Mexico in his song. My plan is to have eight paintings done in time for a summer gallery opening and reception at the The Ranch at Taos Gallery. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. For now here are a few teasers…
