Horses have always represented the spirit of freedom to me. This horse was one of many I have photographed and sketched while in the southwest of the wild mustangs along the road around Taos, the Rio Chama, and just outside Santa Fe. I was painting a background of the Telluride area, with really high mountains and the wilderness and open space of that area.The Escondido Gallery is located at
