The Path Home

The setting is the neighborhood I house-sat in Santa Fe last October. I did a walk through the arroyo everyday and did sketches along the way. 

It's a painting of my neighbors dog Sandy when I was growing up. She walked me to the bus stop every day and was there waiting for me when I arrived home. During this big transition in my life, it was soothing to paint her waiting for me at the end of the path, hoping that my present journey would lead me home.
