I saw this scene while walking along a ridge line outside Santa Fe. I was so taken with the stars that came out as the sun was setting and how the light lingered through each phase of night falling. I combined all the stages in this painting. The stars shooting across the night sky evoke the magical feeling I get at thinking about how the light we see from stars originated from them hundreds of years ago.
