2012 Summer Dates:

"Make your work more personal by

Controlling the language of color,

Creating focal points, and

Discovering your unique creative voice.

Students will work on location, do studio work, and paint from photos to create a truly unique process of putting paint on paper"

Here's what some recent participants had to say:

"The class covered more than the topics I expected. Having studied art so very long ago in college, I really enjoyed the overview of basic color theory."

Sue - Loveland, CO

"I like the opportunity to work in a group setting with someone to encourage, critique and give me help when I need it. I get energized when I am in a supporting class setting."

Crystal - San Diego, CA

"I REALLY enjoyed your workshop. It was exactly what I needed at this point in my artistic endeavors. I appreciate that there was never any negativity in the workshop, even in the critiques. My favorite critique question was: "What do you like about your painting?" One thing you said really struck me: "When you're connecting with your passion it shouldn't be hard. The obstacles move out of the way.""

Jackie - Santa Fe, NM

"The workshop exceeded my expectations. I learned so much and had so much fun!"

Mimi - Austin, TX

"When I was doing the Aspen Balet painting I thought I had it finished so I put it where I could look at it and admire it. Then I realized that there were a lot of problems with it. The aspen in the middle which was supposed to be further back looked like it was in the foreground. And that same aspen had a vertical line on it that was really distracting. I knew I could get rid of the vertical line, but I was having trouble figuring out what to do about bringing the aspen on the left to the front. I remembered what you said about warm vs. cool in terms of creating a focal point and that warmer comes forward and cooler recedes - so I made the left hand aspen warmer and the middle aspen cooler and I think it works now!!!!

Thank you!!!

Jackie
