Outdoor Acrylic Painting class in the Elfin Forest!

Saturday May21, or Jun25, from (8:45) 9am - 1pm

Beautiful setting to paint in, overlooking Olivenhain dam and back country!

In this four hour workshop we will learn how to create the 4 stages of depth with color using atmospheric perspective. We will also discuss how to use color for emotional content and mood. While doing an Expressive Impressionist style painting, we will do under-painting techniques, blocking in color and layering, as well as creating texture with brushstrokes. More advanced students can work with acrylic mediums for extra layering, textures and effects.

Please be at the Elfin Forest parking lot off Harmony Grove road by 8:45. A park ranger will drive up the students and supplies to our painting location overlooking the Olivenhain dam. You won't be able to get to our location on foot so please be on time! Bring a hat, sunscreen and water.

All supplies are included for on site painting, paint, brushes, wet palette, gesso coated paper, paper towels, outdoor easel

If you want a canvas you can bring one - suggested size not bigger than 16" x 20", also a beach chair if you want to sit down.

All skill levels welcome

Class maximum 7 students

Cost: $60

If class is canceled due to rain you can have a full refund, or reschedule for next class. If you cancel 7 days prior to class your payment will be refunded. If you miss class there are no refunds.
