Thanks for stopping by the virtual gallery of Cathy Carey. I currently live and work in Southern California where I have a studio in Escondido, just outside San Diego. I have an outdoor studio, a glass conservatory, where I teach painting classes. I have incredible 360 degree views of a lake, mountains and valleys. The lighting here is beautiful! There is still a lot of natural beauty in this area that I am inspired by, I also use photos and sketches from my travels to create my paintings. Currently I have 10 series of works on display. I currently work and teach in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel.

Upcoming Workshops
I teach workshops in the San Diego, CA area and at Pasadena, CA for the Art methods and Materials show every year in October. In July of 2005 I will be teaching two week long workshops in Santa Fe NM.

The Glasshouse Studio Classes
At my Glasshouse Studio in Escondido, CA I teach one day classes on Saturday throughout the year. The current topics are: Color Theory and Impressionist Landscape Painting, Family Art Day, and Learn Monet's Painting Techniques.
